A few days ago, the News team hosted what I believe was a successful community workshop in conjunction with the ladies of the Amandel Aksie group from the Suiderlig church.

It was a blanket-making workshop in aid of The 9th Day Animal Shelter.

The morning was filled with chatter and laughter as young and old came together for a good cause.

I would like to use this opportunity to thank my amazing team for helping me pull off this event. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Nadine, Bianca, Debbie, Janine and Lee – you girls are amazing. A big thank you to my family, who supported me on the day, as well. I love you so much. I also need to thank the amazing community we serve. You answered our call and gave with open hearts. To those who also came out to support us, believe me when I say, it meant the world to us.
