Woman robbed by gardener in her house

The victim allegedly accepted the offer as she knew the suspect was part of the gardening service she uses.

A man has been arrested on charges of house robbery exactly a month after he allegedly robbed a woman at knife-point.

The suspect allegedly used his garden service team background to gain access to a former client’s residence. He allegedly approached the victim on 17 August outside her home in Krugersdorp and asked for garden cleaning work. The victim accepted the offer as she knew the man was part of the gardening service she uses.

The man then asked for water to drink and followed the woman into the house, where he allegedly pulled out a knife and forced her into the bedroom.

“He allegedly tied her hands and robbed her of her jewellery, cellphones and money,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, the Krugersdorp Police spokesperson.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Detective Constable Pholo, from the Krugersdorp Police and members of the Motswedi Police in North West worked tirelessly to trace the suspect to his home where they arrested him.

He is being detained at the Krugersdorp Police station and will appear in court soon.

Brigadier Baloyi, the Krugersdorp Police station commander, applauded his officers for their good working relationship with the Motswedi Police.
