A vehicle control-point on the R24 saw three males being arrested for possession of drugs last week.
Hekpoort Police got more than they bargained for when they pulled over a vehicle carrying four people while conducting a vehicle control-point (VCP) stop and search operation on the R28 Newthorndale road on 2 June .
“Upon searching the vehicle, police found two suspects in possession of small plastic Ziploc-type bags containing some white powder. During questioning the suspects indicated that the substance was Cat,” Hekpoort Police spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye explained.
An open bottle of liquor was also found in the vehicle and three of the vehicle’s occupants were arrested.
“Two of the suspects have been charged with possession or usage of dangerous and undesirable dependence-producing substances and the driver was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs. The necessary biological examinations were conducted.”
The suspects have since made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
