CPF members spread some warm comfort

CPF 8 warms hearts by donating blankets to the needy before the upcoming winter.

Members of the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum’s (CPF) executive committee together with community members warmed hearts by donating some blankets before the cold really sets in.

This past Freedom Day was spent with the members handing out blankets, which is part of their blanket drive project, to two needy organisations in Krugersdorp.

“Our community members contributed towards this project by donating blankets and comforters in the most cheerful colours,” CPF 8 spokesperson, Len Coetzer said.

The first stop was Polekego which means safety and is a place of safety for abused women and children in Krugersdorp.

They are registered non profit organisation which relies on local businesses and the community for contributions and donations to keep them afloat.

The blankets donated will be used in the creche to keep the little ones warm and comfy during the winter months.

Blankets were also given to the needy in the frail care section at Môreglans Old Age Home.

“It was so heart-warming to see the smiles and gratitude on the faces of those who received the much needed blankets. The committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the community members who made this project possible,” Len concluded.
