The man and his 55-year-old mother were busy cleaning their garage at their home in Walnut Street in Breaunanda when a vehicle with four suspicious occupants stopped at their gate on 1 May around midday.

The next moment four suspects, one armed with a gun, jumped out of the vehicle and pointed the weapon towards them.

Out of shock the mother ran down the street screaming for help while the son ran into the house after he was hit over the head with the weapon.

The suspects gave chase after the son and grabbed a Seiko men’s wrist watch worth R2 000 and fled the scene in the white Toyota Corolla Conquest.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene where the man received treatment for the three centimetre wound on his head.
