A store assistant was attacked and beaten up by four suspects who attempted to rob a bottle store.
Four male suspects attempted to rob the bottle stole in Hekpoort on 15 April at 6.45am.
“The victim saw four male suspects standing in the parking area when he arrived at work,” Hekpoort Police spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye said.
As he was about to open the bottle store he heard a male voice telling him to hand over the store keys.
He allegedly turned to look at the person talking, when he was hit with a sharp object in the face.
As he then fell down, he managed to throw the store key onto the roof.
While he was lying, bleeding, another suspect kicked him in the ribs and face and then made a run for it.
The Station Commander of Hekpoort, Captain MT Zwane is appealing to community members to come forward with any information that might lead to the arrest of the four suspects.
