Kagiso police will not tolerate lawlessness

Kagiso's brigadier warns criminals to do crime at their own risk.

Detectives from Kagiso Police left no stone unturned when they arrested some of their wanted suspects during their special operation.

The special operation on 14 April saw members of the Kagiso police work through the night to make successful arrests.

A 29-year-old suspect was arrested on 15 April at about 1.55am during the intensified operation.

She allegedly broke into a complainant’s home on 14 April during the day.

“The suspect is alleged to have stolen a fridge, DVD player, plasma TV, and six men’s shirts. The complainant told the police the suspect used a duplicate key to enter her house,” Kagiso Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said.

The suspect was arrested and later detained at the police station where a case docket of house breaking and theft was opened.

She is due to appear in court on 18 April.

Roundabout 28 other suspects have been traced and arrested since the beginning of the operation for various complaints like assault, theft, malicious damage to property, street robberies, pointing of firearm and burglaries.

“We are determined to make Kagiso one of the best and safest areas in West Rand. We therefore will not tolerate lawlessness. Commit crime at your own risk because we will hunt you down no matter how long it takes,” Brigadier Sipho Ngubane, the station commander of Kagiso SAPS said.
