Husband shot by Merc-gang perps

The Merc-gang struck again, this time leaving a man with a gunshot wound.

Earlier this afternoon, the cul-de-sac in Roggeveld Street, Noordheuwel, turned into the elusive Merc-gang’s latest crime incident.

Police, Sector 4’s Community Policing Forum (CPF), Dowry and EPR Security were deployed to the scene around noon following another armed robbery in less than a week by the Mercedes-Benz gang which has claimed numerous victims in Krugersdorp thus far.

A neighbour down the street told the News the victim was on her way home from grocery shopping when a white Merc C Class followed her home.

“I was in my garden at the time of the incident and I noticed a white Merc speeding down the street and took a quick left. After they’ve must have realised that the woman turned the other way, they turned around and raced back towards her,” the neighbour said.

As the woman parked outside her house in the cul-de-sac, her husband who usually works in their garage, met her at the gate.

The next moment a white Merc stopped next to where she parked and one occupant pulled out a firearm and shot her husband in the stomach with no warning.

The suspect then held a gun to her head and tried to force her into the car, but she put up a fight.

They then gave up and grabbed her handbag from her and forcefully removed her jewellery off her hands and fingers.

Within seconds they fled the street and disappeared up the the road.

“We have never had anything like this happen in our street before. I mean the victim and his wife has been living here for somewhat 35 years.”

One of the three suspects were described as chubby built wearing a checked shirt.

A be on the lookout (Bolo) alert has been sent out on all possible social media pages for the armed suspects.

A case of attempted murder and armed robbery is currently being opened by police on scene.
