Suspected hit-and-run victim’s body found

Police are appealing to the community for information.

A woman’s body was found on the side of the road in Kromdraai, Lindley on Friday (1 April), police said.

According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, a call was received at 6am from a passerby who saw the body.

He said that upon investigation, it seemed the woman was hit by a vehicle and pulled toward the side of the road.

Even though the victim has been identified by family members, the name of the victim has not been disclosed.

“Family members of the deceased were traced and they identified the victim as their next of kin,” he said.

Police have opened an inquest docket and is requesting that anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of this crime to please contact Muldersdrift police station on 011 952 4600.
