On Thursday afternoon, 10 March, at around 2pm, a woman was shot at in Dromore Street in Kenmare as she parked her vehicle in a driveway, police said.

It was first thought that the incident was an attempted hijacking but police believe it was an armed robbery and attempted murder.

The News was informed that the woman was allegedly pulled out of her car and into the suspects’ car and she was later found in another street. An eight-year-old boy, the victim’s grandson, was also in her car, but he was found unharmed.
