Drunk driver refuses to climb out wrecked car

"I can't get out now I am too stressed," the allegedly drunk driver said on the scene.

An allegedly drunk driver crashed into a power box and refused to climb out of the wrecked vehicle at an accident scene last night, 28 February.

Members of the Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) had their hands full with the driver who crashed through a power box and then into a tree at around 8.30pm on the corner of Moorcroft and Figulus Streets in Krugersdorp West.

The suspect also attempted to leave the scene by foot but was stopped in his tracks.

The vehicle was completely wrecked from the accident according to witnesses on the scene.

A witness on the scene posted on Facebook about the alleged drunk suspect’s bizarre behaviour on the scene.

The suspect locked himself in the vehicle and attempted to drive away but couldn’t.”

It is believed the suspect, who was with his nephew in the vehicle at the time of incident, took his brother’s car for a ‘spin’ when the accident happened.

A witnesses on the scene overheard the suspects saying, “Now I have a lot of stress”.

The suspect was later questioned by police on the scene and let go while his nephew was taken to a nearby hospital for medical observation.
