An elderly woman put up quite a fight when she was robbed in broad daylight.
Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrollers were called out to Ponta Da Sol, a local fruit and vegetable shop, after an elderly woman had been robbed by a male suspect believed to be in his late teens.
Patrollers found the suspect with his hands bound with cable ties as he was apprehended in a citizen’s arrest.
Krugersdorp Police were called to the scene, which is when the story took a strange turn.
A younger girl suddenly stepped forward and confessed to the police about the crime.
However, many witnesses had seen the young male nearly overpowering the elderly woman for her purse.
The 14-year-old girl, who kept confessing to the crime, was arrested and taken into police custody.
Police released the boy and girl, who is believed to be his girlfriend, after the elderly woman decided not to open a case.
She allegedly had the fright of her life and therefore could not identify the two underage perpetrators.
