R42 000 worth of batteries stolen

Suspects allegedly stole 11 cell phone tower batteries.

Four men were recently arrested with R42 000 worth of stolen goods in their possession.

On 4 December Tarlton police officers received a tip-off about a white bakkie on its way to deliver 11 cellphone tower batteries to Norman Informal Settlement.

“The four males aged between 27 and 47 years were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property,” police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome said in a press statement.

“The officers responded swiftly to the given information which led to the arrest of the four suspects,” he added.

All four suspects are expected to appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.

The Station Commander of Tarlton police Lieutenant Colonel Christina Tsoaedi applauded the members for their swift response and for a job well done.
