CPF opens new doors to crime fighting

The new operations room offers crime fighters some solace.

Cutting a ribbon with a bolt cutter made the opening of Sector 4’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) new operations room official.

Sector 4 opened their operations room at the Anthos Shopping Center in Monument in late November.

In true CPF style the ribbon was cut by none other than Krugersdorp CPF Executive Committee chairperson, Gert Jonker with the help of Charmaine Pierson, Dennis Rudmann and Choert Maartens.

The bolt cutter symoblises the hard work done by the CPF members who constantly raid drug and prostitute infested streets of Krugersdorp in an effort to make the community a safer place for residents.

The operations room will be used as an administrative space where residents can fill in applications to join, pay fees and eventually buy two way radios when becoming part of the sector.

There is also a control room where call outs will be sent to along with a sector map on which crime trends will be pin-point and specialsed operations will be planned from.

Although this is just the beginning, Gert has more plans with the space which will include being a resting point for paramedics and security reaction officers who work night shift and otherwise are stationed on roadsides or petrol service stations, especially in winter times.
