Hundreds of litres of alcohol confiscated

Hekpoort police boats with a successful conviction and hundres of liters of alcohol confiscated in crime prevention operations.

Tarlton police officers are patting themselves on the back after a successful week.

In a crime prevention operation, officers managed to arrest 20 suspects for a variety of crimes, ranging from possession of dagga, drinking and driving, arson, assault with an intent to cause grievous bodily harm and some were arrested for minor offences such assault common and trespassing.

During this operations a few illegal liquor outlets were also closed and over 350 litres of alcohol was confiscated

In another success story, 19-year-old Tiyani Lucan Malukele was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in November after he was convicted for housebreaking with the intent to steal.

“This conviction was secured by one of Tarlton’s best detectives, through his dedication and outstanding investigation he proved that police are still committed and motivated in the service. This success was archived by Detective Constable SL Miyambu,” Tarlton Police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome, said.

“The Station Commander of Tarlton SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel CP Tsoaedi expressed her gratitude for the successes and applauded the members for their hard work and dedication,” Matome concluded.
