Well-known couple beaten and stabbed to death

Speculations fly after the murder of a well-known couple in their Noordheuwel home.

A well-known couple and business owners were murdered in their Noordheuwel home on Friday night.

Peter and Joan Meyer were found beaten and stabbed to death in their house in Rudd Street at around 10pm on 27 November.

The couple was the owners of Colour Magic Printers in Robertville which they started 25 years ago and also had a bed factory in Chamdor.

CPF members received a call-out asking for back up from police and emergency services after an alleged fight broke out.

On arrival at the scene, patrollers learned that the incident was a double murder and not an armed robbery. Only two cellphones and a remote for the gate were missing from the house when police arrived on scene.

Numerous rumours started surfacing around what could have happened after it became clear that there was no forced entry to the property.

Curious residents immediately took to social media where various comments were made around the mysterious murder.

It was also suggested that the couple may have been murdered due to a business deal gone wrong.

The post on the Krugersdorp Network Community page on Facebook was quickly removed the day after the crime was committed because the comments were getting out of hand.

The News is still awaiting official police comment.
