[GRAPHIC VIDEO] Suspect lies in pool of blood after ‘execution’

An informant talks to the News about the horrific scene where trigger happy police constables are seen in graphic CCTV footage.

What can first be described as police serving and protecting their community from an alleged robbery suspect, has now turned into a harrowing wrongful death at the hands of Krugersdorp’s crime fighters.

An alleged robbery suspect was shot dead on 19 October following a shoot out between police in Harvey Street in Lewisham. Two weeks later, CCTV footage surfaced of what happened on that fateful day.

An informant told the News a delivery truck was stationed on the scene at a business in Harvey Street minutes before the suspect was fatally shot by police.

Moments before the shootout, in the busy street, one sees a taxi dropping off school children as police speed past and shoot countless rounds at the suspect fleeing by foot.

CCTV footage shows an employee of the business and a delivery staff member running back into the property for cover as gunshots went off while the suspect was running towards the truck.

The driver of the truck is seen trying to get out of the vehicle to hide seconds before the suspect arrived followed by three trigger happy police constables who take turns to shoot the suspect who is already lying defenseless and wounded on the pavement.

The first shots fired at the suspect hit the gate of the business and the shot that wounded the suspect in the shoulder went through his flesh and hit the intercom of the business.

The suspect was also kicked afterwards by one police member. Minutes later the suspect was shot in the head.

Alarmingly the suspect laid in a pool of his blood for over two hours, uncovered, as police waited for the forensic team to arrive on the scene.

The informant said a high pressure pump had to be used to clean the blood off the pavement.

The News contact the spokesperson of the Krugersdorp police for urgent comment, however, the News’ request was forwarded to the Head of Department and no comment has been forthcoming.
