Police loose the uniform for one night

Krugersdorp Cluster Police members were awarded for their hard work around the clock at the annual Prestige Awards at Silverstar.

It was a prestigious night the Krugersdorp Cluster Police members will not forget soon.

The annual Krugersdorp Prestige Awards at Silverstar saw police officers walking away with a total of 58 awards such as Best Detective and Best Spokesperson.

Major General De Lange, Deputy Provincial Commissioner and Major General Anna Mateisi, cluster commander thanked the hard-working police officers whose service was appreciated dearly by their colleagues and their communities the past year.

From Magaliesburg, Constable Simali received the award for being the best detective in the Krugersdorp Cluster. Sergeant Thsepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, received the Woman of the Year award, thanking the community.

“I’m in the blue uniform not by mistake. I dreamed of becoming a policewoman when I was still at school,” she said.

Constable Lucky Matome, Tarlton Police spokesperson scooped up two awards – Man of the Year and Communication Officer of the Year

Matome said the year was not an easy one and police officers are rewarded because they work tirelessly to combat crime.

Andy Mashaile, Provincial Community Policing Forum chairperson and the Mayors of Mogale City and Randfontein also were present at the prestigious award ceremony.
