CPF members trained as medical reponders

Local CPF members trained to assist their community better.

Local Community Policing Forum (CPF) members sharpened their skills to serve their community better.

A group of CPF members from different sectors recently completed their level 2 and 3 First Aid Training.

The training was presented by Kenneth Wasmuth from Lanseria Training Centre who was assisted by Evette Starke an EMS coordinator at the premises of Thompsons Security at a special rate to the members.

These members are the first group of CPF members who have completed the training up to level 3 and will as a team serve the whole of the Krugersdorp area.

In the first level, members learned about the basics of first aid along with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Level two and three are interlinked and gave members an in dept oversight and training in First Aid, CPR, conditions such as heart attacks, animal bites and much more.

This group is known as the First Aid Respondents who respond to medical emergencies in the area and assist patients until the paramedics arrive on the scene to take over and treat the patients accordingly.

These responders will also work hand-in-hand with private paramedic companies as well as the Mogale City Emergency Management Services which will help relieve some pressure off the emergency services who are frequently in great demand.

A second group of CPF members are already following in the tracks of these First Aid Responders.
