Upcoming tennis players got the right motivation to give their best.

A group of Krugersdorp High School (KHS) tennis players met, greeted and questioned two South African tennis stars at the recent Davis Cup.

The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s lawn tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format.

Nine members of KHS’ tennis team, together with their coach Jordan Ogborne and educator Nicole Venter had the opportunity of watching two of South Africa’s tennis stars playing against Ireland in the Davis Cup at the Irene Country Club.

Besides the team having the opportunity of watching and supporting great tennis, they also participated in the press conference with Fritz Wolmarans and Tucker Vorster.

The pupils were given a tour of the facilities and finished their exciting day with photographs of them, the tennis stars and Davis Cup Captain Earl Grainger being taken by Reg Caldecott, one of South Africa’s award-winning photographers.
