Car rolls through complex wall – damages four more cars

Residents literally had a rude awakening as a vehicle rolled through their complex's wall.

Residents received a ‘rude awakening’ after a vehicle rolled through their townhouse complex’s wall at 5am on a Sunday morning.

Three youngsters narrowly escaped death after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled numerous times. A resident of the complex situated in Donegal Street contacted the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF) after a Ford Fiesta crashed through their wall on 26 July.

The Fiesta rolled through the wall of the complex and damaged four other vehicles parked inside the complex along with another resident’s garden wall.

A young man and two young women allegedly sat waiting outside their wrecked vehicle for the CPF to arrive.

Emergency services ER24, Netcare 911 and Help24 responded to the accident.

Although the three were responsive and alert after the accident, they were carried out from the scene on stretchers to be medically evaluated and treated at hospital.

The CPF and stakeholders were applauded by the residents for reacting swiftly to the early morning call-out.

CPF would like to encourage motorists to always oblige to the rules of the road and not to speed in residential areas or on main roads.
