Beggar Michael missing

After a week in rehab, the self-confessed beggar and addict, is now missing.

After he was admitted to rehab a week ago, Michael Botha, a self-confessed addict who begs to support his addiction, left Walking With Winners rehabilitation centre in the East Rand.

Michelle Senekel, Michael’s sister and biggest supporter, reported him missing at the Krugersdorp Police Station on Saturday. He left the rehab on Thursday and phoned Michelle on Friday saying he is on his way to Krugersdorp.

“When I still didn’t hear anything from him Saturday morning, I went to the police. We were worried that something might have happened to him,” Michelle explained.

On Sunday, Michael phoned his sister from a payphone presumably from somewhere in the West Rand. Michelle suspects he is back in Krugersdorp.

“He just told me that I should not worry about him and that he will help himself to get better.”

Michael’s main rehab sponsors’ son also ran away after a week in rehab. He was back in after another week and today he has been drug-free for seven months.

“We still have hope. We will never loose hope.”

Michelle asks that anyone who knows where Michael is or where he might be to contact her on 072 426 578.
