The Sector 9 Community Policing Forum is growing stronger by the day.

The member of Sector 9’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) alongside members of the police are intensifying their efforts of keeping the streets of Mindalore and Lewisham crime free.

Both the CPF and police recently closed in on a foreigner who was selling copied DVD’s in Mindalore.

During this operation the foreigner was caught with a total of 550 illegal discs.

He was arrested and his case is still ongoing at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

The same day, the CPF received a call-out after a woman was sexually assaulted by a Nigerian national in Lewisham.

Swift reaction from the CPF led to the arrest of the perpetrator.

Chairperson of the CPF would like to ensure the residents of the area that the CPF is working around the clock to clean the streets of crime but also to ensure the safety of residents.

To assist in the mission of making Mindalore and Lewisham a safer neighbourhood, the CPF is bettering their radio network with the installation of a repeater system.

This will contribute to a better communication flow through the two-way radios used by members of the CPF.

The sector has made a positive contribution towards ridding the neighbourhood of crime and will continue to grow stronger every day as more and more residents joins the battle against crime.
