Missing woman kidnapped, says sangoma

Melinda still missing after she disappeared in Witpoortjie in June.

Marinda Labuschagne is still missing in action after she mysteriously disappeared from where she usually sells newspapers in Witpoortjie.

The 36-year-old Munsieville informal settlement resident along with her small dog disappeared without a trace on 28 June shortly after the delivery truck had dropped her off in Oranje Street where she sells Rapport newspapers.

She called the truck driver and cried, “Help! They are taking me!”

Since her disappearance her husband had not heard anything from her and had seen a sangoma in Munsieville for guidance regarding her whereabouts.

“She confirmed my wife is still alive, and had been kidnapped by a group of white people. The sangoma pointed in the direction of Johannesburg,” said husband Lappies.

Lappies subsequently went back to the police station to have his case changed from a missing person to a kidnapping.

“The police does not want to listen,” he said.

He claimed he had been to various mortuaries and hospitals in the area to find his wife, without any luck.

Melinda last was seen in Witpoortjie wearing a silver jacket, blue jeans and an orange scarf.

Lappies vowed to leave no stone unturned in his quest to find his wife.

Anyone with information can contact Lappies on 060 829 0898.
