Body found dumped near hospital

A man made a brief court appearance after police suspected him of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body.

Police are investigating a murder case after the body of a woman was found dead in an open space near Leratong Hospital.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said police were patrolling the Tshepisong area last Thursday 2 July when they received a complaint that the body of a woman was seen lying next to the R41-Randfontein Road.

“Police immediately went to the scene where they met the complainant who told them that he was walking in the area when he discovered the body, that was covered with blood.”

Sibiya said police also found stones and rocks next to the body.

A murder case docket was opened and investigations was launced.

During police investigations, the deceased’s boyfriend was arrested and already had made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court facing murder charges.
