CPF warns against arrogant robbers

Suspicious looking men from a red vehicle were linked to an armed robbery.

Residents are warned to be more vigilant when entering their properties as robbers are becoming more arrogant.

In an incident on 12 June, a resident was surprised by three robbers who were waiting for her in her garden when she pulled into her property.

A red vehicle with four occupants was noted in the Siverfields area and put members of Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF) on alert earlier that afternoon.

A patroller slowly followed the vehicle to a petrol station nearby where the driver parked it.

The CPF member approached the occupant of the vehicle and requested him to leave the area as residents had been complaining about his presence.

Not long after another report came through over the radios about three suspicious-looking men hanging around the street.

The same patroller quickly acted and followed the men who also casually made their way to the petrol station and joined the occupant in the red vehicle. They sped off.

The patroller gave chase and later lost the suspects on Chamdor Road as they escaped towards Kagiso.

Arriving back at Silverfields the patroller met up with a police vehicle at the property where the woman had been tied up and robbed by the three suspects who also were connected to the red vehicle.
