Making their way back to the starting point members of the community spotted an unidentified creature in the bushes.

An early morning walk in the kloof, hosted by the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF), had participants confused when they discovered a creature lurking in the bushes.

The members of the CPF hosted their annual walk in the kloof on 20 June where the community had the opportunity to explore nature hidden in their own back yards.

CPF members, friends, family and even dogs met at the Noordheuwel Lapa in Kwartel Road to kick off the two kilometre walk that stretched from Krugersdorp’s kloof to the Manie Mulder Adventure Centre in Roodekrans.

The crisp winter air filled the walkers’ lungs while they were trying to spot some wildlife, which reportedly inhabit the kloof area.

A checkpoint situated behind the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society on Robert Broom Drive gave the walkers some time to recharge with refreshments and enjoy the scenery.

Swift reaction by CPF and community members led to the capture of the creature, which turned out to be none other than the CPF’s leopard mascot, which provided fun and entertainment for the children during the morning’s walk.

The News is happy to report that no-one was injured during this incident.
