Perps arrested during police operation

The operation was done as way to address crime in the area.

The Krugersdorp Cluster Police in a joint operation with officials from Home Affairs and Mogale City Traffic, conducted a successful operation in Kagiso and Tshepisong.

Cluster Commander Major General Anna Mateisi said the operation last Friday morning 8 May was done as a way to address crime in the area.

Criminals were unable to hide as numerous homes, businesses, individuals and vehicles was thoroughly searched, leading to several successful arrests being made.

Captain Appel Ernst, a police spokesperson said apart from arresting 11 undocumented foreign nationals for illegal immigration, two people were arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Another person was arrested for possession and dealing in illicit cigarettes to the value of around R500, which was also confiscated.

Mateisi said that similar operations will be conducted throughout the Krugersdorp Cluster on an ongoing basis.
