Tarlton detectives the best in Gauteng

The very same team made the first position their permanent spot in the Krugersdorp Cluster since 2009.

Criminals need to be very wary and on guard if they plan to strike in the Tarlton area as Tarlton Police Station boasts with the best detectives in the province.

The very same team made the first position their permanent spot in the Krugersdorp Cluster since 2009 when the station was officially opened as an independent station as it was initially a satellite station of Krugersdorp.

Captain Sam Nkhumane, acting Station Commander of the Tarlton station applauded his detective team and said it is only possible if the officers are all motivated to combat crime.

“They are here to serve the community and they are fully aware that it is their job to reduce crime as much as possible – another reason why I am so proud of my team!”

He said working in the countryside makes life more difficult for his detective team as many of the crimes only get reported at a later stage.

“Many landowners do not live in the area and only realise that crime such as housebreaking and theft have occurred on their property when they return to their property; something that makes the detective work more difficult.”

Crime is currently stable, he said, but their detectives mostly work on contact crime cases such as assault, robberies, rape and crime that is property related.

“My detectives are willing to catch the culprits and is determined to continue with their fight against crime and will not lie down. This encourage them to continue with their groundbreaking detective work,” Nkhumane said.

But the work of admin staff such as that of Cornell Dinis (admin clerk) and Moses Sosibo (senior data typist) are not unseen.

“Without their hard work we would not have been as succesfull as they ensure crime information are captured on the computer systems which gets send to the court.”

The detectives who have shown professionalism and dedication as they have secured conviction in most of the cases they have investigated are Constables Bontle Dhlamini, Portia Mashego, Frans Matshele, Colbert Netsandama, Liveman Miyambu and Warrant Officer Nathaniel Lefakane.
