Jewellery store robbed

The security informed a Krugersdorp police members who was passing by and the member gave chase and managed to arrest one suspect.

Krugersdorp police confirmed that four suspects robbed a jewellery shop in Key West shopping centre recently.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, on Wednesday 15 April at about 6.50pm four suspects entered a new jewellery store at Key West shopping center.

“Allegedly the suspects informed the security guard that they were sent by the owner to do final arrangements inside the store. They went inside and managed to open the safe and stole expensive jewellery.

“When they saw the guard making inquiries, they ran away. The security informed a Krugersdorp police members who was passing by and the member gave chase and managed to arrest one suspect. The other suspects fled the scene by car that was parked outside.”

The suspect was detained at the police’s holding cells and made an appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

The Krugersdorp SAPS management appreciates the wonderful work done by Sergeant Vila Mthwako for his quick response in arresting a suspect.
