Children injured after bakkies collide
The baby, believed to be two-years-old, was found in the veld. The bakkies were badly damaged.
Five people, among them a child, were critically injured when two bakkies collided head on in Koster Street, in Magaliesburg.
According to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing, two other people sustained moderate injuries and a baby sustained minor injuries during the accident which occurred yesterday, 19 April.
When ER24 paramedics and other emergency services arrived they found patients lying all over the area. It is understood that patients were ejected from the vehicles.
“The baby, believed to be two-years-old, was found in the veld. The bakkies were badly damaged,” said Bodasing.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found a seven-year-old girl to be in a critical condition. She was treated and airlifted by the Netcare helicopter to hospital.
“All other patients who sustained critical and moderate injuries as well as the baby boy were transported to hospital by ambulance.
“The exact cause of the incident is unknown however authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
