Both the children were rushed to the Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital where they later passed away from smoke inhalation.

The fire, which is believed to have started in the living room, was allegedly due to an electrical fault.

According to Krugersdorp police spokesperson Constable Tshepiso Mashale, the rumours about the mother’s whereabouts claiming she had been out drinking and gambling, is untrue.

No arrests have been made as police is still awaiting the results of an autopsy, however investigations are still ongoing.

The private funeral for the children is taking place tomorrow, 26 March.

A special message for the five-year-old boy was put up on the notice board at the Disney Daycare, the nursery school he attended.

The News understand that the father of the five-year-old-boy, as well as his family and friends are still very shaken by the tragic incident and therefore declined to speak to the News.
