A suspect is wanted by police because he never returned to court after being granted bail for common robbery.
The suspect was arrested on New Year’s day for robbing a woman of her cell phone and money at knife point.
The woman then managed to alert a group of people about the incident.
“The suspect fled the scene and was chased and later apprehended by the group. He was caught in possession of the woman’s property and was handed over to the police who detained him at the Kagiso police station,” says Warent Officer Solomon Sibiya, Spokesperson for the Kagiso SAPS.
The suspect was charged with common robbery and appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
After he was granted bail, he never returned to court and is believed to be in hiding.
