Alleged murdered man found in river

At first it looked like a drowning incident, but after further investigation it was found that a man was murdered.

The Muldersdrift Police arrested two men in their 30s for the alleged murder of a man on Sunday 1 March.

Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, a police spokesperson said police received a complaint of an alleged drowning incident at the Crocodile River in Rietvlei, Muldersdrift.

On arrival they noticed a body floating inside the river and on further investigation they noticed the deceased had multiple stab wounds on the body.

“After further enquiries we received information which led us to the arrest of two men,” said Ngwenya.

He said the the two suspects will make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court facing charges of murder.
