Landlord and tenant assault woman

The complainant (mother) went to her boyfriend’s place, allegedly for child’s maintenance money when she were attacked.

A landlord and her tenant were arrested and detained at the Kagiso Police Station for attacking and wounding a woman in Rietvallei.

Police spokesperson Solomon Sibiya says it is understood that the complainant (mother) went to her boyfriend’s place, allegedly for child maintenance money.

“When the mother of the child approached the father he allegedly freaked out and assaulted her. He stabbed her with a sharp object on her left hand before pushing her out of his room and strangling her.”

Sibiya says the man’s landlord also joined in and hit the woman with a spade on the upper body, allegedly accusing her of making a noise in the yard.

“The man and his female landlord then dragged the complainant out of the yard.”

The woman lodged a complaint with the police. Subsequently both suspects were arrested and detained at Kagiso Police Station before appearing in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
