Be part of this Madiba Day initiative

Weco encourages members of the general public to join in on this initiative.

Weco, an engineering business in Chamdor, will be helping to keep the community warm this winter by donating blankets in honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy.

Their purpose is to provide wealth creation to all stakeholders, developing skilled employees and improving the lives of the communities in which they operate. Therefore they have decided to spend their 67 minutes for Madiba Day by collecting blankets from the staff and customers and donate them to a local school.

The company believes that the ultimate goal of any business is to change the lives of the people with whom it interacts, therefore every year for Mandela Day the employees of the company come together to do something to help the community.

Each of their 45 employees have pledged to donate R67 towards a blanket and the company has pledged to give the difference and double the quantity of blankets donated by the staff.

Weco encourages members of the general public to join in on this initiative.

A single blanket can make a big difference on a cold winter’s night. Anyone wishing to take part can contact Weco at info@weco.co.za or call 011 762 4341.

The blanket drive is among the many social responsibility programmes Weco is involved in.

The company plays an active role in helping numerous organisations in the community. Some of the beneficiaries of Weco’s programme are:

• Africa’s Angels

• Girls & Boys Town

• Cotlands

• Santa Shoebox Project

• Deo Gloria House

• Muscular Dystrophy Association of SA

• Nelson Mandela Day Community Clean-Up

• National HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Help Weco make a difference and donate a blanket today.
