Men arrested for unlicensed firearm

A man stopped the police to inform them that a firearm was pointed at him.

Two men between the ages of 22 and 23 were arrested by the Kagiso Police for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says that the sector police was patrolling the area when they were stopped by a member of the public.

“He told the police that two unknown men had just pointed a firearm at him and that he would show the police where they were.”

Sibiya says they found the men a few metres from where the police were stopped by the victim.

“The police started searching the suspects. A firearm was found and the police immediately arrested the suspects.”

The suspects have appeared briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
