A suspect is sought by the Krugersdorp Police for raping a woman at Coronation Park in December last year.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says on 16 December at about 7pm the complainant was enjoying some time out at the park when she asked her boyfriend to accompany her to a spot where she could relieve herself.
“Once that was done, the complainant and her boyfriend started kissing,” says Sibiya.
He says that two unknown men suddenly appeared and demanded cash.
“The suspects then grabbed and separated the complainant and her boyfriend, but the boyfriend managed to break free and fled.”
One of the suspects assaulted the complainant until she fell down. He then held her down on the ground whilst his accomplice undressed her.
“The complainant was raped by the suspect who threatened her with a screwdriver,” explains Sibiya.
The police is appealing to anyone who will be able to recognise the suspect and /or know his whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Magwai on 082 771 6383.
