No major crimes reported in Sector 5

Crime stats for the month of August indicate that there were some odd petty crimes.

Crime statistics and other happenings from the community of the Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) were discussed during the August meeting, which was held at the NG Suiderlig Church.

Henry Fourie, vice chairman of the sector gave feedback and indicated that no major crimes were reported other than the odd petty crimes, and confirmed that there is an increase in drug dealers operating in the area.

The Sector 5 CPF would like to give credit to two patrollers – Fred and André – who excelled during the month of August. They share the Patroller of the Month award.

Meetings for the Sector are held at 7pm every third Thursday of the month at the NG Suiderlig Church and everyone is welcome to attend.

“We ask the community to assist us in preventing crime in Sector 5, which consists of Krugersdorp West, Burgershoop, West Village, Boltonia and Delporton,” says Fourie.

The CPF urges the community to be alert at all times and if they do see suspicious activity they can contact them with information or give crime tips by phoning the Sector 5 response number on 072 782 9354.
