Women rise up the ranks in property market

When it comes to property for sale in Kempton Park and the rest of Gauteng, women power is starting to dominate, according to statistics from Lightstone.
For centuries, women have fought for equal rights and finally a positive change is taking place on a regular basis, and the property market is starting to reflect that in 2018. This is a significant step considering that there was a time when it was not possible for women to even own a property or other entities.
Lightstone is renowned for providing some trusted and reliable data in the property and automotive market, and in terms of volume, the amount of property purchases by single women since 2016 has skyrocketed. So much so, that they have overtaken the spend of single males and married couples.
According to the lead analyst at Lightstone Property, Cindy Bezuidenhout, this could be an indication that women are becoming more economically empowered in general.
The data was drilled down deeper, and it showed that the biggest difference was found in the Gauteng market, where single females were the dominant force. This was also the case in the Eastern Cape, although the gap between types of buyers was not as significant.
It changes slightly in the coastal provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, where married couples grab the top spot, however, they are followed by single women and the single men.
Although this is a good step in the right direction, there is still more that needs to change, and this was perfectly summed up when looking at the average sales price. Here, single women find themselves last on the list, and Bezuidenhout feels that this indicates a clear gap between the earnings of men and women.
