Avion rakes up double win in cricket league
In the last five years since readmission to Premier League Cricket this was the first time Avion beat Benoni.
The annual Easterns Premier League T20 competition kicked off this past weekend.
As a curtain raiser for the upcoming cricket season, Avion Park Cricket Club played in two fixtures against teams from Midrand and Benoni Northerns.
First up was the Avion CC who took on rivals from Midrand.

Avion batted first and scored 238 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
In response, Midrand smashed 115 runs for the loss of eight in 20 overs to hand Avion a 123 run win.
Jeandre Byleveld was announced at the best batsman of the match with his 59 runs.
Next up Avion CC faced the Benoni Northerns Premier side.
Avion batted first and scored 140 for the loss of five in 20 overs.
Benoni fell short of their target by a mere eight runs in their 20 batting overs.
