Three-time champ of Themisa Mile aims for another title

The race will take place on October 27 and will start and finish at Olifantsfontein Sports Grounds.

Three-time Thembisa Mile 10km champion and course record holder Namakoe Nkhasi of the Nedbank Running Club aims for an unprecedented fourth Thembisa 10km title on October 27.

Lesotho’s national record holder over the distance, who represented the mountain kingdom at the Rio Olympics, boasts a 10km personal best of 27:52 and wants to add to the titles he won in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

For the elite runners, the race offers a total prize purse of R114 000.

The men’s and women’s 10km winners will each take home R10 000, while the invitational mile winners will each take home R4 000.

The top three boys and girls in the U10, U13 and U15 age groups for the 1 Mile race will receive SPAR vouchers.
The open and age category winners will receive gold medals.

All race-registered finishers to receive bronze medals.

SPAR goodiebags will be given to the first 1 500 entries.
