Kempton wrestlers bring home gold

The two young wrestlers participated and won double gold in their weight brackets.

The prestigious Johnnie Reitz-Big Five Open wrestling tournament was recently held at the University of Pretoria.
Over 900 entries were received from wrestlers across South Africa and Africa.

Two young wrestlers from Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton Park, participated and won double gold in their weight brackets.

Michael Oosthuizen from the Centurion Wrestling Club won gold in the freestyle wrestling category for U13 in the 52.5-57.9kg weight class.

He also won a gold in the president’s school wrestling category for U13 in the 54.8-56.4kg weight bracket.

Jaun Vorster from the Primrose Wrestling Club won gold in the freestyle wrestling category for the U13 35.8-39.2kg weight bracket and won gold in the Greco-Roman Wrestling category for U13’s in the 36.9-37.9kg weight class.
