Local fighters celebrate success at charity boxing event

The event was organised to create more awareness for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) as well as to shine the spotlight on GBV.

Three fighters from the Nova Family and Martial Arts Centre recently participated in a charity boxing event.

Wade Loods, Shaun Snyman and coach JD du Plessis joined the cause and to create awareness.

Loods made his debut fight appearance one to remember when he went head to head against a seasoned fighter. He came close to winning the match by TK.

A controversial split decision announced Wade’s defeat after his three-round fight.

Next up was Shaun Snyman for the Nova team.

Snyman dominated the ring from the start.

He made his presence known and took charge from the first round with a very technical boxing match.

He was announced as the unanimous winner after his three rounds.

With his neat footwork and a strategic plan, he put up a great show for everyone present.

His opponent, a masterclass powerhouse with a close to undefeated record, also got a run for his money.

Throwing some heavy hands, the coach stepped away victorious with an outstanding performance proving once again that age is just a number.
