Promising cyclist needs funding for European tour

One of the youngster’s latest achievements was his joint second place in the 50km MTB off-road race at the annual Emperors Palace Classic.

A young Kempton Park cyclist has the opportunity to join the SA junior European tour during the July school holidays.

However, as it is a self-funded tour, Andries Nigrini, a matric pupil at Hoërskool Kempton Park, might not be able to go.

He will be based in Sittard in the Netherlands for the entire month.

The GP General Patton in Luxembourg will be one of the UCI Men Junior Nations Cup events he will participate in, as well as other UCI races.

A final team will be selected from the riders participating in the European tour to compete in the UCI Road World Championships in Bergen (Norway) from September 17-24.

One of the youngster’s latest achievements was his joint second place in the 50km MTB off-road race at the annual Emperors Palace Classic in April, where he finished in a time of 01:34:22.

This opportunity will change his bright cycling career forever. However, R35 000 is needed to send him off to Europe.

If you are able to contribute towards the European tour, call 082-794-9865.
