Ten schools face off at sports festival at Norkem Primary

The tournament was played over two days at the hosting school's sports fields

KEMPTON's own Cresslawn Primary went up against Tembisa's Tlamatlama Primary on Saturday afternoon.

TEN primary school netball and soccer teams participated in Norkem Park Primary School’s annual netball and soccer tournament.

On Friday and Saturday, the schools went face-to-face in netball and soccer games at the hosting school’s sports fields.

The tournament, which was started in 2002, came from a desire to give children from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to play in a professional and well organised environment.

This year the participating schools were Norkem Park Primary, Parkrand Primary, Shangri-La Academy, Cresslawn Primary, Colin Mann Primary, Super Sport United Soccer Schools, Eastleigh Primary, Solid Foundations, Tlamatlama Primary and Bedfordview Primary.
