THE first boys tennis team of Curro Serengeti Academy became the winners of the Easterns District C league and then winners of the Eastern Gauteng C league after they defeated Brandwag A by 31-25.
They had to battle against very good opposition but their resilient attitude held them in good stead and they fought back in quite a few of the double and single encounters.
It was a gruelling week and a half in which they won against Hoërskool Kempton Park and they won the semi-finals against Marais Viljoen E to complete the treble by winning the final.
“This means we won the Eastern District section in the third league and the Gauteng third league titles as well in one season,” said Patrick van Strijp, head of tennis.
“We are extremely proud of the team for their efforts and hard work, sportsmanship and ambassadorial roles during the season.”
