Risima scores most goals at festival

Schools from all over Ekurhuleni competed against each other

NORKEM Park Primary School hosted its annual Imperial Norkem Festival on the weekend of May 23.

Teams from all over Gauteng came to compete in this soccer and netball tournament.

The festival started on Friday morning and ended on Sunday afternoon when the finals were played.

The schools that competed included Farrarmere Primary School, Northridge Primary School, St Matthews Primary School, Glenstantia Primary School, Tlamatlama Primary School, Cresslawn Primary School, Norkem Park Primary School, Birch Acres Primary School, Shangri-La Academy, and Parkrand Primary School.

All the teams competed against each other and on Sunday the play-offs were held, which led to the the top two teams battle it out for the trophy.

Northridge and Tlamatlama faced off in the soccer final with Northridge claiming victory.

Northridge also made the final of the netball beating Farrarmere.

Risima Maluleke from Norkem Park Primary won the Golden Boot Award for most goals scored during the tournament.
