Con Amore attend Summer Games

They went far to bring home the medals and certificates and make the school proud

CON Amore School took part in the annual athletics and swimming Summer Games in Klerksdorp where 11 schools from all over the country took part.

These learners won medals in their respective categories:

Boy’s athletics: Dewandre Abdull (B/11 100m 3rd, 200m 3rd, relay 2nd), Lesiba Legodi (B/11 relay 2nd), Sphiwe Mhlanga (B/13: 100m 5th), Keegan Driver (B/15 shot-put 5th), Lucky Hamane (B/19 100m 3rd), Ruan Jordaan (B/21 100m 4th, long jump 2nd, shot-put 4th), Vuli Hlatshwayo (Downs B/15 80m 2nd, shot-put 1st, relay 2nd) and Fabio Manhica (Downs B/17 100m 2nd, shot-put 2nd, relay 2nd).

Boy’s swimming: Jarred Murton (B/11 25m crawl 3rd, backstroke 3rd, breaststroke 3rd), Keagan Hubble (B/13 25m breaststroke 4th), Lucky Hamane (B/19 25m freestyle 5th), Ruan Jordaan (B/21 50m crawl 3rd) and Fabio Manhica (Downs B/17 25m crawl 2nd, 25m backstroke 2nd).

Girl’s athletics: Matshediso Kibe (G/11 100m 2nd, 200m 1st, relay 2nd), Christabel Mnisi (G/11 relay 2nd), Sharron Hook (G/13 100m 2nd, 200m 5th), Irene Ramaru (G/15 100m 3rd, shot-put 3rd, long jump 3rd), Dimpho Mgudlwa (G/19 100m 5th), Kele Ramothibe (G/21 shot-put 4th), Hlapi Mogashane (Downs G/17 100m 2nd, relay 2nd), Lynda Graaff (Downs G/17 shot-put 2nd) and Jessica Molefe (Downs G/19 100m 2nd, shot-put 3rd, relay 2nd).

Girl’s swimming: Izaan van Rooyen (G u/13 25m crawl 5th, 25m backstroke 5th, 25m breaststroke 2nd), Caitlynn Mills (G u/1325m freestyle 1st new record) and Cinzia Lo Giudice (G u/1325m backstroke 5th).

These athletes and swimmers received certificates for participation: Ntokozo Ndlovu, Victor Chukwuneta, Paul Engelbrecht, Amos Masilela, Duncan Macgregor, Karabo Masina, Marlon Blom, Nicolas Keyser, Rodney Mncube, Maritz Nagel, Patrick Cockcroft, Tristan Hewitt, Kelwin Johnson, Mateboho Mohlomi, Tiisetso Montshioa, Makaziwe Gaqelo, and Janine Schreuder.

The annual junior athletics took place in Vereeniging and was presented by Eureka School. Seven schools from all over the country participated and these learners from Con Amore School took part:

Chloe Botha (2nd), Luan Matthysen (3rd), Ilana von Ronge, Mahaltse Maake, Phomolo Mashemola (1st), Logan Ferreira (2nd), Gift Mkhari, Benji Sibeko (2nd), Clinton le Roux, Jean-Pierre van Zyl, Nathan van Tonder (3rd), Lourenzo Balck and Sonja Horn.
