Car washes are wasting water

I have read on your website about the water shedding in our area, which is totally understandable due to the water shortage in South Africa.

But my query is, why are we as residents being penalised for water usage when car washes in our area are all still washing vehicles on a daily basis? They are most certainly wasting water to wash the “lazy person’s'” vehicle.

Many of us residents are trying to save water by using our small amount of bathwater on our plants. We even let our washing machine’s water run into basins for re-use.

Realistically, if there is such a water crisis, these car wash businesses should stop wasting water.

Will there be anything done about this situation?
